Cover removed

cowlcover.jpg

Here is a picture of the cover immediately after I removed it. There were 125 spot welds to be cut. After two days of drilling, the cover was free.

Note the one piece of Cotton Batting style insulation that the former owner had stuffed into the Cowl to eliminate the draft...Gee, I wonder why there was a draft?

Here is the actual cowl....not so bad right? Just a little dirt, and some surface rust...go figure the odds.

This is the passenger side. Some holes here. I can cut off the top hat and replace it with one of the cowl patch kits available at almost any of the parts places online. Around $15.00 and we are all done. I bought this from RESTOREMUSTANGS.COM.

The Driver's side was not so lucky. I will need to weld in an entire new patch panel here. I will try to get this from my friend at B&D Automotive. Repair pics to be soon.
